247Sports Composite five-star small forward Brandon Miller committed to play for Nate Oats and the Alabama Crimson Tide Monday. Miller is the No. 11 ranked overall player and the No. 3 ranked small forward in the recruiting class of 2022 out of Antioch (Tenn.) Cane Ridge.

Miller is Alabama’s second big recruit in the class of 2022, joining four-star power forward Noah Clowney. 247Sports’ Director of Basketball Scouting Jerry Meyer projects Miller as a first-round draft pick and gave him a pro comparison to Paul Pierce.

“Great length as a combo forward at a long 6-8,” Meyer wrote. “Is thin now but has the frame to add body mass. More of a smooth athlete than an explosive athlete but can make plays in traffic. Will do more of that with added strength and added mental toughness. Has tremendous body control and can stop on a dime for his shot and also make improvising moves to finish. Has a great shooting touch. In process of developing a more consistent deep range shot. Quite adept at finding the midrange shot. Loves to shoot going left, especially with a hop back move or spin move that direction. Also, a good finisher around the rim.

“Handles the ball well in space. Can get too high with the dribble in traffic. Sees the court and will deliver the pass on the move. Needs to up his intensity on the defensive end. Has a feel for blocking shots. Often, however, plays too upright and without enough strength at the point of attack. Has great hands as a rebounder. Developing strength will certainly aide him as a rebounder. Has a ton of potential. Key is tightening up his skills and his mental toughness while gaining weight and strength.”

Alabama assistant Bryan Hodgson led the charge to recruit Miller, along with Oats and the rest of the staff. Nick Saban also pitched in during his most recent visit in September, hosting the family in his office.

“It was probably one of the better visits,” Miller said, via BamaOnLine. “I went to the football game and they were chanting my name. It was just a good experience.”

247Sports’ national analyst Travis Branham recently shared his thoughts on Miller’s decision to commit to Alabama.

“I really like what Brandon brings to the Alabama program. 6-foot-8, pushing 6-foot-9, skilled, versatile wing. One of the most advanced and polished scorers in the class. He scores it from all three levels. He can create his own shot and shoot over the top of the defense with his size. Given his ability to score, I really like the fit in what he brings to Alabama with how Nate Oats likes to get up and down the floor and put points up on the board. Defensively, he’s really made a big jump over the past six months. He can fit position one through four, especially as he adds some weight and strength to his frame. He’s a kid that will really be a versatile defender especially if he continues to buy in on that end of the floor. So that’ll be an area for him to continue honing in on. His ability to impact the game on the perimeter, be a versatile defender on both ends of the floor … I love the fit, I love what he brings to the program. He’s going to be a player to watch in college basketball next season.”
