Alabama's gain today just might become Houston's gain in the near future. The Tide landed commitments from small forward Brandon Miller and power forward Noah Clowney today. The Crystal Ball sees those commitments as pushing the Cougars into the top spot in the recruitment of five-star prospect Jarace Walker.

A 6-8 combo forward out of IMG Academy in Florida, Walker had a recruitment viewed as a too tough to call it recruitment between Alabama, Auburn and Houston. Many in the industry felt Alabama might have a small lead in the recruitment. But with two other forwards committing to the Tide today, predictions for Houston started accumulating in Walker's Crystal Ball.

247Sports National Recruiting Analyst Travis Branham began the parade of Houston picks that has now accumulated to five total. No other school has any predictions.

Walker is coming off an official visit to Houston and is expected to announce a college destination in the coming days.

Ranked No. 13 in the 2022 247Sports Composite, Walker, if he does commit to Houston, would push the Cougars' recruiting class to No. 11 in the 247Sports Composite Team Rankings.

Here is my scouting report on Jarace Walker:

Has a physically strong and intimidating physique for a combo forward. Extremely athletic. Explosive two foot jumper in traffic. Handles the ball well and is adept at delivering quality passes off the dribble. Can score at all three levels, including post up game. Rebounds well and has the potential to be a good defender. Has a refined game for such a physically imposing player.
